I'm soooooooooo sorry fellow mommies! I know it's really late. We went out of town that's why I wasn't able to post my Mommy Moments theme yesterday, but, better late than never! =)
The picture above isn't really Lance's pic when he was sick. It just so happened that when he's sick, I don't really take photos of him. I just don't have the heart. And normally, people who are sick are always on the bed in their pajamas. But I want to share something with you fellow mommies, the first time that he was confined at the hospital. He was, if I'm not mistaken, around 4 or 5 years old. He got an on/off fever for about 3-4 days and his cough wasn't going away. So when we had him take tests, he was diagnosed to have Primary Complex which is very common to kids nowadays. However, he needed to be confined. It was his first time to have the freakin' needle pierce him. He was calling out "Mommy! Lola!" because I know that he was in pain when the doctor was putting in the dextrose. Both me and my mom were crying and both of us weren't looking. It was such a painful moment. It's true pala, that when your kid is sick and you see him suffering, you'd rather be sick than your kid. That's why as much as possible, we take EXTRA EXTRA care of him because we don't want him to experience that again. But, thank God, after that, up until now, he wasn't taken back to the hospital for another confinement. =)

ReplyDeleteprimary complex really is very common. pero ang galing mo if he hasn't been hospitalized since then. good job! :) you wouldn't believe how sick some of the kids i've seen in the hospital just because of neglect. it's so heartbreaking to see your child get sick, di ba? so i can't believe how some mommies could neglect their kids :(
ReplyDeleteI agree, mawawala sa isip talaga and picture picture kapag ang baby may sakit and in the hospital. Glad your son is fine and well now.
ReplyDeleteBeth, i am sure all parents are very worried when our kids are sick...perp wala naman tayo magawa :-(; am glad din na di na naospital si Lance mo uli.
ReplyDeleteI am also sure na you will be fine as well as the baby in case na ma incubator siya...pero sana naman eh wag na nga...i'll be praying for you...for sure!
It's really painful when we see our kids get sick, buti na lang hindi na naulit confinement nya. Happy Sunday!
ReplyDeleteWe moms always feels helpless when it comes to kids getting sick!
ReplyDeleteHi Beth. I just saw your message this afternoon thus the late reply. I hope you'll be able to see this (hehe). Anyway, i knew exactly how you felt when your child was hospitalized. My kids were like suki at the FEU Hospital when they were younger. Alagang-alaga pa sila noon. But now na malaki na sila (12 and 9) bihira na silang magkasakit.
ReplyDeleteYou're asking where I live? Dito sa bahagi ng Barangay Commonwealth kami.
Ang saya ng Mommy Moments courtesy of Chris, ano? kahit malalaki na kids ko, I still enjoy posting photos for MM every Friday.
Nice meeting you here. :)
I understand that it's hard when a child gets sick. It could be emotionally draining. Health is something we should always give importance to.
ReplyDeleteWhen a child cries out Mommy or Lola during a painful procedure at the hospital, it really sends moms freaking. Neither do I look, and I try my best not to hear the cry. hayyyy....
ReplyDeleteI just got back from an out-of-town weekend so medyo late tong visit ko. Have a great week!
Oh my! Kakatakot naman yan. Napraning na nga ako kay Summer nung nalaman na may primary complex sya, pano pa kaya kung na-confine sya? Kakaloka siguro.
ReplyDeleteyup, it always breaks our heart to see our children in pain especially if it's the freaking NEEDLE that hurts them! who can blame us if we take EXTRA care of our babies, di ba sis? thanks for commenting on my entry and yes, better late than never. take care!
